Terms of Use

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Exprea. By using the platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If we learn that a user is under 16, we will terminate their account and delete their data.

2. Account Registration

• Exprea is an invite-only community. You may only create an account using a valid invite code or by being added by an administrator.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it updated.
• You must not share your account or credentials with any other person.

3. Membership & Payments

• Exprea offers three membership tiers. Free (€0): the resource library, the community feed, Battles, and 21 Coach practices in total, capped at 3 a day. It does not include reserving a seat at a session. Plus (€19/month): everything in Free, plus 2 sessions a month, the Impromptu Rounds inside them, unlimited Coach practice with full reports, and the improvement roadmap. Pro (€49/month): everything in Plus, plus every session with no monthly limit, mentorship, and peer feedback. Feature availability varies by tier and may change over time.
• Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges to your payment method.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through the platform. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• New subscribers may request a full refund within 30 days of their initial subscription payment by contacting [email protected]. Refund requests made outside this window are handled on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect on their account.

4. In-Person Sessions and Recording

Exprea hosts in-person sessions in various locations. At in-person sessions:

• Sessions may be recorded using wearable devices (e.g. smart glasses) operated by facilitators, capturing audio and body-language/movement data for the purpose of generating feedback and dashboard insights, as described in our Privacy Policy.
• Recorded areas will be clearly signposted, and attendees, including guests who are not Exprea members, will be notified before recording begins.
• Attendance at an in-person session where recording is signposted constitutes consent to that recording, unless you opt out by notifying the session facilitator or remaining outside the recorded area.

5. Platform Conduct

When using Exprea, you agree to:

• Treat all members, leaders, and guests with respect during sessions, battles, and all interactions on the platform.
• Not engage in harassment, discrimination, bullying, or any form of abusive behaviour.
• Not manipulate votes in Speaker Battles or Impromptu Rounds (e.g. creating fake accounts, soliciting external votes dishonestly).
• Not upload or share content that is offensive, illegal, defamatory, or infringes on others' rights.
• Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, admin features, or platform systems.
• Not use the platform for any purpose other than its intended use as a public speaking community.

Violation of these rules may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination at our discretion.

6. Intellectual Property

• The Exprea platform, including its design, features, branding, and proprietary content, is owned by Exprea and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform without our prior written consent.
• Exprea's name, logos, and trademarks may not be used without express permission.

7. User Content

• You retain ownership of all content you create on Exprea, including profile information, audio recordings, battle submissions, and community contributions.
• By submitting content to Exprea, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, distribute, and use that content within the platform for the purpose of operating our services (e.g. showing your profile to other members, displaying battle results, featuring community contributions).
• You may request deletion of your content at any time by contacting us or deleting your account.
• You are solely responsible for ensuring that your content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

8. AI Services

Exprea uses AI-powered features to provide speaking coaching, feedback, and support. By using these features, you acknowledge that:

• AI feedback is provided for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute professional coaching, medical, or psychological advice.
• AI analysis is based on automated processing (currently Google Gemini, and in some cases OpenAI for written coaching language) and may not always be accurate or complete.
• We do not guarantee specific outcomes or improvements from using AI features.
• Audio and content you submit for coaching is processed by third-party AI providers subject to their own terms of service.
• You may manage AI-related data preferences in your Privacy settings.

9. Termination & Suspension

• We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in harmful behaviour, or at our sole discretion with reasonable notice.
• Accounts inactive for an extended period may be subject to XP decay as described in our platform rules.
• You may close your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon closure, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
• Termination does not relieve you of any outstanding payment obligations.

10. Disclaimers

Exprea is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
• Any defects will be corrected within a specific timeframe.
• The results obtained from using the platform (including AI feedback) will be accurate or reliable.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Exprea, its founders, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Exprea in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Exprea shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country of residence (including the EU, UK, or US, as applicable).

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email. Your continued use of Exprea after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
